Company News Since August 2000Coston and McIsaac welcomes new staff members and says good-bye to othersAugust 1, 2000 -- The firm regretfully said goodbye to staff member Holly Walls. Holly had been with the firm since January 1997 and has moved on to new employment opportunities. August 28, 2000 -- The firm welcomed Kevin R. Buza, CPA. Kevin is a Downeast Maine native with six years experience in public accounting. January 1, 2001 -- The firm welcomed Tom McCormack, CPA. Tom is best known locally for his work at The Jackson Lab. October 6, 2003 -- The firm welcomed Melinda Hamblem, CPA. Melinda is a Deer Isle native and has a great appreciation for Maine's coastal communities. December 1, 2004 -- The firm welcomed Cathy Chen. Coston and McIsaac lost a long time employee and friendAugust 17, 2003 -- After a bicycling accident two weeks previously our friend and colleague Lee Pittle passed away suddenly. Coston and McIsaac launches website and expands servicesOctober 17, 2000 -- Coston and McIsaac, CPAs launched its internet website. The firm plans to use the website for communicating immerging issues and news to clients. We encourage our clients to review the news pages on a regular basis. December 17, 2001 -- The firm began implementation of a do-it-yourself online income tax preparation service. Users of the website will be able to prepare their own income tax returns via a link on the firm's website. The online income tax preparation software is provided by CCH, a leading provider of tax preparation software and tax research materials. This online package permit users to prepare and efile their own tax returns beginning in mid-January 2002. The firm also provides an online income tax organizer. This program is designed to help users collect and organize their income tax paperwork. January 1, 2003 -- The firm decided not to continue promoting the do-it-yourself online income tax preparation service. There was only minimal usage of the service and costs exceeded related revenues. Coston and McIsaac sold payroll serviceDecember 4, 2000 -- After fourteen years of servicing local payroll needs Coston and McIsaac, CPAs will be turning this portion of their business over to Advanced Payroll Plus of Bangor, Maine. Advanced Payroll will operate out of the same building in Bar Harbor and Sue Kelley has been hired by them to continue providing for your payroll needs. We have voice mail!December 19, 2000 -- The firm upgraded its phone system to provide a voice mail option for our clients. We will be checking it regularly and believe the expanded system will enable us to better communicate with our clients. Update on our Registered Investment Advisor plansDecember 19, 2000 -- Paul and MJ have both passed the necessary exams to form a Registered Investment Advisor firm. We are in the process of doing this now, please watch for further updates here. This is something that we are very excited about and believe that it will be a tremendous benefit for our clients. December 19, 2001 -- A year later Coston and McIsaac Investment Advisers is a reality. This separate company, organized as a Limited Liability Company (LLC), is headquartered in the former payroll office at 11 Everard Court in Bar Harbor. January 8, 2003 -- Coston and McIsaac Investment Advisers, LLC now boasts six investment adviser representatives and is continuing to expand its client base. If you need investment advice, please stop in to meet with one of the investment adviser representatives. August 17, 2003 -- Our friend and colleague Lee Pittle passed away today two weeks after his bicycling accident. Lee had been a CPA and an investment adviser representative.
