Paul, President and co-founder, established the firm with M.J. McIsaac in 1987 following five years of prior public accounting experience. In addition to his management role, Paul is the firm's authority on estate planning and certain income tax technical matters. Paul is also licensed as an investment advisor representative. Paul earned his bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Maine at Machias in 1978 and a Master of Science in Taxation from Bentley College in 1989. Paul is a member of the Maine Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Ron Wrobel, CPA, M. Acc.Investment Advisor RepresentativeRon, Vice-President and managing shareholder, joined the firm in the summer of 2008 and has been a CPA since 1988. Prior to joining the firm, Ron was Chief Financial Officer of The First National Bank of Bar Harbor and before that worked at KPMG Peat Marwick in Portland, Maine for six years on the audit staff and as an audit manager. Ron has a master's in accountancy degree from Bowling Green State University and a Bachelors degree from the University of Maine at Presque Isle. In addition to providing personal and business tax preparation and planning services, Ron has significant experience working with borrowers at the Bank, including credit analysis and troubled loan situations requiring cash flow, budgeting and debt structuring preparation as well as internal control assessment and implementation. Ron has been active assisting clients with Offers in Compromise with the IRS. Ron lives in Bar Harbor with his wife Rena and has two grown sons. Ron is an active member of the Bar Harbor Rotary Club as a past President and current Treasurer. Ron is also an active member of the MDI YMCA serving on the Board of Trustees. Ron is also licensed as an investment adviser representative.
Melinda Workman, CPA, MBAMelinda, Treasurer and shareholder, joined the firm in October 2003. She is a native of Deer Isle and has tremendous appreciation for the coastal communities of Maine. Her experience includes 25 years in public accounting and 7 years working in financial management for private industry. Melinda earned her bachelors degree and her masters of Business degree from the University of Maine, Orono. She received her MBA in 1992 and became a CPA in 1996. Melinda enjoys working with a wide variety of clients including corporations, partnerships, individuals, estates, non-profits and trusts. Assisting new businesses and non-profits with startup planning and strategic development is an integral part of client services that Melinda provides. Melinda is a member of the Maine Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Patricia Pottle, CPAInvestment Advisor RepresentativeTricia Pottle, Secretary and shareholder, joined the firm in January of 2007. She is a graduate of Husson College with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. She became a CPA in 1994. Her family is from and still lives in Brownville Junction, Maine, but she now resides in Surry with her husband Kevin. Her prior experience includes 15 years in public accounting and 8 years working in financial management for private industry. Tricia is a member of the Maine Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. She is also licensed as an investment adviser representative.
Stacey Durrell, EAStacey Durrell, shareholder, is a native of Brunswick Maine, came back to the MDI region to be near her family. She joined Coston and McIsaac in January of 2017. She has over 26 years’ experience in bookkeeping and tax preparation. Stacey obtained a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Maine Augusta. Stacey was granted the Enrolled Agent designation by the Internal Revenue Service in December 2020 after passing a rigorous examination. Stacey is a Certified Professional Bookkeeper through NACPB, and a QuickBooks Pro Advisor. She has experience working with small businesses bookkeeping, payroll, and sales tax reporting. She also has advanced knowledge of income tax preparation and planning for individuals, S-corporations, partnerships, and non-profits. Since moving back to MDI, she is surrounded by her nieces, brothers and sister and her mother and father. This is the most important thing in her life and has realized she has come “home.”
Michael James Marino, Acc., MBA, EA, CRCInvestment Advisor RepresentativeCredit Risk Certification (CRC), awarded by the Risk Management Association—now ProSight Financial Association.Michael joined the firm in 2023 as a staff accountant. Prior focus includes 28 years in financial services related industries. Marino graduated from the University of Maine, Orono, ME as well as the Stonier Graduate School of Banking, at both Georgetown University and the University of Pennsylvania. Michael is a certified Intuit QuickBooks ProAdvisor with QuickBooks and related product experience dating to 1998. Additional designations include State of Maine Dedimus Justice, Notary Public, and Credit Risk Certification (CRC). He is a current and former member and volunteer for organizations throughout Maine including past president/assistant governor for the Ellsworth Rotary Club and past president of the Risk Management Association, Maine Chapter. Marino is a former Small Business Development Center (SBDC) counselor providing training and technical assistance to small business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs and has been a Staff Counselor with the Ellsworth Chapter of Service Corps of Retired Executives and former E-mail Counselor, Nationwide Service Corps of Retired Executives.

Ben Sumner, Accountant, has lived with his family on Great Cranberry Island since 2015 and has served as
Deputy Town Clerk & Assistant Treasurer for the Town of Cranberry Isles since 2017. A native of
southwest Virginia, Ben is a 1996 graduate of Hampden-Sydney College with a bachelor's degree in
economics. In addition to a variety of accounting, bookkeeping, and tax representation roles, Ben has
led an eclectic professional career and joined the firm in November 2022. He specializes in non-profit
compliance and tax reporting. Ben is currently working toward an Enrolled Agent designation.
Matthew McEachern, EAInvestment Advisor RepresentativeMatt, Accountant, joined the firm in December of 2022 as an enrolled agent tax preparer. He also works with Coston, McIsaac & Shea as an Investment Advisor Representative. Matt has over 12 years of experience in bookkeeping and tax preparation. He earned his bachelors degree in accounting from Bentley Collage in 1993. Matt and his wife call Bar Harbor, Maine home.

Desiree Boyle, Accountant, originally from Saco and a longtime resident of Portland Maine, came to MDI in 2008 as an owner-operator of a popular local restaurant. Desiree joined Coston and McIsaac CPAs in 2022. She brings to our firm her knowledge of many years of business ownership, retail and office management, paralegal experience, tax preparation and bookkeeping. Desiree is also our resident Notary. Desiree graduated high school from Waynflete School in Portland and attended Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut.
Trish HowardTrish Howard, Office Manager, joined the firm in 1997, following thirteen years in the loan department at Bar Harbor Bank & Trust. Trish is an integral part of our daily operations and provides administrative support to the entire office. She keeps our administrative operations running smoothly and professionally. Trish has a strong commitment to customer service and will greet you at the door or over the telephone with a smile and willingness to serve.
